I am a 43 year old Christian man in Southern Ohio, who is happily married with three beautiful children, and a career in engineering. I am truly blessed in many regards. I created this blog to explore and share my thoughts about being a man, a Christian, a father, and various other aspects of my life.

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
Since moving to Northern California, I have had two kids, bought two houses, sold a car and a motorcycle, bought two other cars, and had two roommates. We have been visited by my mom and sister, both of whom are struggling financially and with my sister having two young children. We have also been visited by all of my wife's family, and her best friend too.
But in the almost four years that I have lived here, my younger brother Steven has never once taken the trip to visit us.
He's 25 years old, single, and has a steady job. He has been to Boston multiple times, to Italy, and even to nearby Las Vegas. And that's just what I can recall off the top of my head.
I've heard plenty of excuses, and not all of them are bad, but four years' worth?
Am I calling him out? You bet I am!

poor Mikey : )
I know Stevie has mentioned a few times that he needs to get out there.
I myself need to make it a priority to come with the kids so that they can see and play with their beautiful little cousins.
Just remember that you left us to flounder without ya! I'm still bitter and sad about that. Out of town is one thing, but California? It just feels sooo far away.
Come back Mikey come baacckkkk!
Before you go firing off all of the reasons that you live there...I get it. I hate it, but I get it.
Michael, This is a true story. In my defense, my Boston trips are always for a weekend and im back on Sunday, my Italy trip was free other than plane ticket, and my Vegas trip was a weekend and I had to visit before I got too old and then would feel guilty or not aloud to go.

When I go to Cally I want to make it for at least a week and visit other places than Sacramento. It’s such a long trip and there is so much to see there, it seems counterproductive to visit for just a few days. Seeing you and my wonderful family isnt counterproductive, but I figure I will kill two birds with one stone when I do go. I love you but I agree with Caryn as well as you. I didn’t move across the country. I dont blame you or fault your choice by any means because you are happy and thats what matters. But your initial Lomonaco family is across the US missing you all the time for family gatherings, birthdays, and whatever else. I love you regardless of your bitterness and am forever greatful for the wonderful brother I have been blessed with.
